| Perfect for the cabin owner who snowmobiles, skis, or ice fishes, the Deluxe Freeze Alarm lets you warm up the cabin by telephone. Simply install a second thermostat and with one phone call, switch between the thermostat set at 50° to the one set at 70° and enjoy a comfortable cabin when you arrive. Deluxe model also accepts optional sensors such as our WaterAlarm™ or our MiniAlarm™ motion sensor. This unit calls up to three phone numbers if there is a temperature emergency, prolonged power failure, or if the backup battery needs replacing. Also can call a numeric pager and leave a numeric message on the pager display. |

The Deluxe model FAD2 provides simple, inexpensive protection against falling or rising temperatures and prolonged power failures. The Deluxe is not only perfect for monitoring a home, second home or cabin, but is also great for monitoring rising temperatures in a home, refrigerator, walk-in cooler/freezer, computer room or greenhouse. The Pre-Heat/Cool Feature allows you to turn up or down the heat or air conditioning with a phone call.

Other features include:
- Automatically calls up to three phone numbers if the temperature gets out of range, the power goes out or if the back-up battery requires replacing.
- Quick Status Check feature allows you to check the current temperature, power and back-up battery status with a simple, 15 second phone call.
- Monitors both a high and low temperature set point at the same time making the it perfect for monitoring a deep freezer, walk-in cooler, floral cooler, green house or garage.
- Pre-Heat or Cool your home, cottage or cabin with a phone call.
- Add one of our Water Alarms to be alerted by phone of water leaks or flooding.

- Power Out Timer allows you to select the amount of time the power must be out before it calls you with a power out alarm. This helps prevent unwanted alarm calls from short power failures.
- Security code prevents unauthorized access.
- Listen to temperatures in either Fahrenheit or Celsius degrees.
- The Deluxe easily works with answering machines or voice mail. If you have an answering machine or voice mail at the location you are monitoring, you can still receive messages or you can access your FA-D2 through a simple procedure of calling, hanging up and calling right back. If the Freeze Alarm is calling locations that have voice mail or answering machines, you will hear all or a portion of the alarm message on your message system.
- The Deluxe model uses your existing telephone line to make outgoing alarm calls. You do not need an additional line, but you do need a regular telephone line. Some DSL and digital phone systems work just fine, but testing with these systems is essential. The Deluxe model plugs into a regular 110V power outlet, but uses a 9V lithium battery back-up power. Q: Can the Freeze Alarm or CottageSitter share the phone line with an answering machine or fax?
A: Yes. If you have a telephone answering machine attached to your telephone line, both models can be instructed to allow you to call in without having the answering machine or fax answer the telephone call! Anyone else calling your number will go to the answering machine or fax as normal, but you will bypass the answering machine by a simple calling procedure.
Q: What kind of batteries are required and are they included?
A: One standard 9 volt battery is required to power the Deluxe model FA-D2 during power failure, and it is not included.
Q: Will it leave a message if it calls an answering machine?
A: Yes. Both models begin talking and reporting the alarm condition immediately after dialing the number. Depending on the recording duration of your answering machine, the alarm condition should be recorded as a voice message.
Q: Can this be used with a digital phone line?
A: All of our Sensaphone CottageSitter and Freeze Alarm products require attachment to a standard analog telephone line. Both systems are not designed to operated with true digital phone systems such as might be located in a large private office. If the telephone line that you have will support a standard fax, they will work. If you hope to use the monitor in a large office with a digital phone system, simple have a fax line installed.
Q: What language does the Freeze Alarm speak?
A: All models will offer status reports and alarm reports in the English language only.
Q: Is there any monthly fees involved?
A: No. There are never any monthly fees for monitoring with a Sensaphone dialer or Freeze Alarm system. With our dialers you own the monitoring system and control who and where the any alert calls go.
Q: Do I need to hire a professional to install?
A: No. All models are very easy to install, setup and program. Usually setup can be completed in as little as 10 minutes. But if you have special requirements such as unique wiring needs or special sensors, you may wish to enlist the assistance of an installer. Most alarm or telephone installers whose job is to handle low voltage wiring can assist in the installation of sensors and wiring. |
