While new product development has been the primary focus of late, upgrades to the legacy products are also in the works. The Sensaphone 2000 received significant upgrades, making the unit more flexible and functional. Those upgrades include a redesigned battery backup and the addition of a programmable relay output. The battery backup now uses a sealed gel-cell battery instead of the Nicad C-cells, and more importantly, the new battery is now included with the 2000.
The output is a Form-C relay with a 1-amp capacity and can be used to switch a device automatically or manually. Manual control can be initiated through the PC software or through a voice phone call to the Model 2000. The automatic control options are selected through a new section of the 2000 PC software, and any input condition can be used to trigger the control of the output. The program relay output is suitable for something simple like a local horn or siren when an alarm occurs, or something more sophisticated like the automatic control of a heating or cooling device triggered by temperature readings.
