The 400 , 800, 1400 and 1800 monitor for these potential
problems, and call you right away -- before an incident becomes
a disaster. Both offer the features listed below.
Temperature: Built-in temperature
monitoring. All models ensure that you know if the temperature
deviates from what your plant life needs. Temperature limits can
be programmed from -20º to +150º F (-30º to 65º
C). Remote temperature monitoring sensors are Absolute Automation.
Humidity: Maintain the humidity
level your plants need. Connect a Humidistat sensor
(FGD-0027) to your Sensaphone, and you'll know the moisture
content of the air almost as soon as your plants do.
Power Failure & Surges:
Built-in monitoring for power failures. Know right away if your
sprinklers, lights, heaters are not operating, before your plants
suffer. You can program how long a power outage lasts before you
need to be informed, from 0 seconds to 272 minutes. Both units are
equipped for back-up batteries to keep them running for approximately
24 hours after a power failure. Both units have internal surge protection
built in. However, Phonetics advises that you protect your Sensaphone,
and other electrical equipment connected to your phone line, with
additional external surge protection. We recommend the Isotel
Surge Protector.
Security: Attach standard Magnetic Reed (FGD-0006) security sensors or an Infrared Motion Detector (FGD-0007) to monitor windows
and doors. The Sensaphone will respond to opened windows and doors.
You can even connect a pre-installed security system to the Sensaphone,
saving yourself monthly fees paid to monitoring services. The 1104
and 1108 will call whomever you choose -- your neighbor, the police,
the fire department, etc.
Smoke, Fire and other Alarms:
Built-in sound monitoring. If you have a smoke detector or other
alarm installed, the Sensaphone will hear it and respond. You program
the level and duration of sound to which the Sensaphone responds.
You can even call in and listen to sounds on location through the
built-in microphone. Further, any equipment provided with a dry
contact output can register an alarm condition with Sensaphone.
The Model 400 monitors four sensors and calls up to four
32-digit phone numbers.
The Model 800 monitors up to
eight sensors and calls up to eight 32-digit phone numbers.
Both allow you to call in at any time
to check on conditions. Alarms are announced in a clear, high quality
voice. Both units can share a phone line with an answering machine.
Sensaphones have proven reliable, providing over a decade of service
in more than 200,000 installations. Sensaphones are manufactured
in the USA.
NOTE: Neither the 400 nor the 800 is designed for installation directly in extreme environments where they are likely to
get wet or encounter chemical agents; they should be placed in a
clean, office-like environment. Models 1400 and 1800 come in NEMA-4X enclosures for these applications. Remote Monitor Sensors may be used to keep all models out of harsh environments.
