Advantages
- only detects vehicles
- probe is buried and out of sight
- detects people and cars
- simple to install
- very easy to install
- only detects heavy objects moving over it
Disadvantages
- will not detect people or animals reducing false alarms
- slightly more difficult to install (should be buried)
- lightning can cause false alarms
- detects large animals, sometimes birds etc.
- can miss detection during heavy rain and fog
- rubber can deteriorate
- does not work as effectively when buried in snow
